Current Parking Impacts
IMPORTANT FALL 2026 PARKING NOTICE
Traffic is unusually heavy and finding parking is extremely difficult between 8:30
a.m. - 2 p.m., Monday - Thursday! Plan your commute carefully and consider using the South Campus Garage, at 1278
South 10th St. (intersection of 10th and Alma Streets). You can conveniently take
the free SJSU shuttle to the main campus from there. Another option is to leverage
the VTA Bay Pass for utilizing public transportation. Find out more at go.sjsu.edu/transportation
As a reminder, there is no grace period for parking. A valid parking permit for all vehciles is required at all times.
No shuttle service during finals and end of academic year.
Shuttle service will resume on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 (the first day of instruction
for 2026 Fall Semester).
North Garage Construction Impacts
Ongoing construction related to the City of San José's Better Bikeways II project to enhance safety along downtown streets will impact street access to our North Garage at Tenth and San Fernando Streets. The North Garage will remain open and operational,
but expect delays in getting into and out of the garage during morning hours. Traffic
disruptions are expected continue through the start of the semester, plan ahead.
Permit holders and campus visitors to the Main Campus are encouraged to use the West Garage or South Garage during this time to help minimize delays and congestion. Visit the new transportation hub for alternative options for students and employees to get to campus.

General News

- Parking citation fees are being adjusted to better support parking operations and your parking experience.
Fees were adjusted starting August 1, 2025. These changes reflect increased costs

your cooperation as we continue improving campus mobility and safety.
